Regulatory Processing Assistance
In a recent California finding, more than 52 regulatory and compliance documents must be filed with various agencies for a renewable energy project to commence. In addition, these assortments of steps must be filed in the favorable methodology according to each agency’s protocol. To further complicate the situation, the agencies act independently of each other, creating a regulatory porridge, causing delays and increasing uncertainty.
The Ag Biomass Council is actively assembling the Regulatory and Utility Processing Service (RUPS) designed to streamline project permitting and systematize inter-agency relations to advance biomass projects throughout California.
